Landscapes
These works, more narrative and poetic in subject
matter, have been more playful in practice. There is a parallel between
elements of the landscapes and elements of the “human condition”. The
resins and varnishes will age, crack and discolor. The images are scraped,
scratched and chiseled, as I broach questions of degradation, neglect
and value. Inherent within the works are references to tradition and
familiarity, place and time. Many recent versions of these landscapes
take on qualities of theater and the stage.

Introspective
These paintings are spontaneous, albeit calculated, and involve
more intuitive aspects. A departure from the calculated landscape series,
these paintings involve many layers of paint, resin, and various surface
materials. These works are not so much panoramic in composition, but
might be considered microscopic, as they narrow in on the texture of
a space or surface.

Extroversion
Often images taken from popular culture, these drawings, paintings
and sculptures
isolate an “act” or an event. The subject matter is usually historic
and relevant, though sometimes banal or routine. I will play with
these direct or peripheral events in a more ironic and literal
manner.
